SEER2 rating helps consumers compare energy efficiency when choosing a new air conditioner. Higher SEER2 ratings mean significant utility savings. The federal minimum is 14 SEER2 with ratings into the 20 SEER2 range. A 20 SEER2 uses half the energy of a 10 seer much like MPG ratings for vehicles.
Good for extreme southern climates with very low heating demand such as south Florida and south Texas (otherwise a heat pump is the best option)
